Last Wednesday we launched the new blog for a local Scouting organization and we are very pleased with the results and more important, so is Scouting Cuijk.

The old website was done by one of their previous members and was a volunteer job. This was a fairly nice website and was build with simple HTML pages but the site was far from finished. If you want to create a site for such a large organization as Scouting Cuijk it takes a lot of time, a lot of effort and commitment.

I came in contact with one of the board members and told her that it would be my pleasure to see what we could do for their organization. Scouting Cuijk had a several whishes.

Of course the price since it is an organization with mostly volunteers. Well this wasn’t a problem because Promedia Blogging is of course a commercial company but we want to help out the community by offering organizations, clubs and schools special arrangements and deals.

One of the other things they wanted; they wanted the site the be an extension of their organization. I think we really succeeded in making this weblog a digital clubhouse. Some of the things we accomplished are a colorful and cheerful weblog, a nice looking forum with a closed section for the managers and the board and several guestbook’s.

We really enjoyed working on this project with the board of Scouting Cuijk. We are so proud of the result that we are placing the site in our portfolio with a full detailed rapport.

The first plugin here on Promedia will be the Category Icon plugin. I translated it before but the developer made it more a WP2.5 style plugin and created several more valuable options and we had to redo the translations.

This plugin is a really awesome one. Category Icons allows you to connect a unique image with each of your categories. You can use it in your sidebar, on your category page or you can use it to place icons next to the post title.

If you want to see it in action; we are using it on The World of Office Tips & Tricks since the first release. I’m really excited about this plugin.
